Telangana government not to change Metro Rail Alignment in Old City

HYDERABAD: After investigating different alternatives on the realignment of the metro rail course in the Old City , the Telangana government has at last chosen to adhere to the first arrangement. The course is to interface Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station to Falaknuma by means of Darulshifa, Miralamandi and Shalibanda.

The venture engineer, Larsen and Toubro (L&T) Limited, directed a possibility study on the option course recommended by Majlis-eIttehadul Muslimeen (MIM) to take the metro rail by means of Salarjung Museum, High Court along the Musi stream, Bahadurpura intersection and Kalapathar to Falaknuma. L&T presented a report as of late to the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) expressing that the option course was not practical.

The fundamental concern is that the legislature might need to look for ecological clearances to take up the metro work along the Musi. Additionally, the expense of the task would heighten by Rs 700 to Rs 800 crore if the course is changed. Official so urces said the L&T report has been sent to the state government and the firm is relied upon to stretch a go beyond according to the first arrangement once the boss clergyman affirms the choice.

“The administration needs to minimize property procurement, as was done in Sultan Bazaar where the street width is slender, furthermore paying of higher remuneration,” an authority of the metropolitan organization division told TOI. Sources said most ideal bundles would be worked out for property proprietors to deter difference on this issue. The 5.5-km metro rail stretch in Old City falls under the 16-km metro hallway II from JBS to Falaknuma. In the event that the arrangement is changed, there would no stations at Charminar, Shalibanda and Shamsheergunj and new stations would need to be included at Muslimjung, Bahadurpura, Zoo Park, Kalapathar and Misrigunj, adding 3.2 km to the separation.

While take a shot at the task is at lively pace in different hallways, it was put on hold in the Old City with MIM’s interest to rethink the arrangement. The gathering’s fundamental protest was that upwards of 1,050 properties and 35 re ligious structures would be influenced. Despite the fact that the legislature affirmed old arrangements at Assembly and Sultan Bazaar zones, no choice had been tackled Old City’s arrangement in perspective of races to the GHMC council. Now, in the wake of getting the report from L&T, the choice on the arrangement is prone to be declared after the gathering session finishes up toward the end of this current month.

Whenever reached, Hyderabad Metro Rail overseeing executive NVS Reddy declined to react saying the issue is under the domain of the state government.
